A feature of the 2014 Greater Manchester devolution agreement was a promise from the government to hand over control of the entire health and social care budget – worth £6bn – to Greater Manchester.
This came into effect on 1st April 2016, and means that Greater Manchester is the only city region directly controlling its own budget, meaning that as a clinician, you can help blaze a trail here, and be part of something exciting and challenging.
