Greater Manchester, for work

Large Pack

As was once famously said by Mancunian icon Anthony Wilson: “This is Manchester, we do things differently here”, and this is true too about our healthcare.

A feature of the 2014 Greater Manchester devolution agreement was a promise from the government to hand over control of the entire health and social care budget – worth £6bn – to Greater Manchester.

This came into effect on 1st April 2016, and means that Greater Manchester is the only city region directly controlling its own budget, meaning that as a clinician, you can help blaze a trail here, and be part of something exciting and challenging.

When you arrive here, you’ll notice the humour, the warmth and the collaboration – we get things done here. Together.
