Student support – resources for universities

A range of signposts to support services, health advice, resources and communication materials

We recognised that our universities were needing to provide a wide range of support to their students, particularly those who are self-isolating. Our unique partnership with all universities through the universities mental health service and the relationships we’ve developed across the health and care system through devolution meant that colleagues from across Greater Manchester were willing to share best practice and resources with their colleagues. The result is a resource pack that’s aimed at anyone supporting students and contains links to key services and communication assets that can be used by individual universities to reinforce key messages.

The pack covers: Where to get help if you’re feeling distressed; Alcohol; Bereavement; Drugs; Entertainment – creative ideas; Emergency department; How to register with a GP; Mental health and wellbeing; Vaccinations; Volunteering; Pharmacies; Sexual health; Suicide add where it will sit.

The pack will be kept updated as new resources become available so please don’t download and keep local copies.
