Support for anyone who is visually impaired

Henshaws are a charity supporting people living with sight loss and a range of other disabilities to go beyond expectations across the North of England. They appreciate that this is an uncertain time and  recognise that when times are tough, it’s the people who already face challenges that can be affected the most.  Their First Step team are very much available to talk to on 0300 222 5555, 9.00am-4.30pm Monday-Friday.  They can also support you remotely by:

  • Providing information on support within your local area.
  • Carrying out a remote technology assessment and training to help reduce social isolation and increase independence.
  • Providing support to help explain medical information and advice on relevant aids and equipment.
  • Offering an outreach service to pro-actively check on the wellbeing of their most vulnerable service users.

You can also access resources in their online Knowledge Village, which is full of videos, e-books and blogs that contain useful tips and info about living with sight loss, tech and eye conditions.
