The Point at Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground will host a drop-in vaccination clinic

Spectators at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket ground will be able to get their Covid-19 jab quickly and simply on Sunday 25 July, with a drop-in vaccination clinic set to run alongside The Hundred games between both the women’s and men’s teams from Manchester Originals and Birmingham Phoenix.

The clinic will be open to all ticket holders eligible for the vaccine. It aims to make it as easy as possible for those who still haven’t had their jab to get protected.

Anyone attending either game on Sunday can visit the drop-in clinic, located at The Point on the second floor of the ground. No appointment is necessary.

Dr Tom Taker, GP and chair of Greater Manchester Medical Executive, said:

“Millions of people have now been vaccinated in Greater Manchester, but we know there’s still people out there yet to get the jab.

“Drop-in clinics, like this one, make it really simple for people to get protection against Covid-19. So, if you’re heading out to watch the cricket on Sunday and you’ve not been vaccinated, or are due your second dose, please stop by – you’ll be protecting yourself and everyone you come in to contact with.

“If you’re not a cricket fan, there’s drop-in clinics taking place right across Greater Manchester. There’s sure to be one near to you, it really is that easy.”

Rebecca Demaine, Associate Director Primary Care Trafford CCG and Trafford Vaccination Programme SRO for Trafford CCG said:

“We know how important having the vaccines is in the fight against Covid and we would urge anyone attending the match who hasn’t been vaccinated to pop along to the clinic and get their jab.”

Anyone not attending the games can book a vaccination online at www.nhs.uk or by calling 119.
